Fight over Mich. Health Insurance Market Not Done | Health
LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Gov. Rick Snyder's attempt for legislative approval of a new health insurance market in Michigan has been 1 ½-year odyssey and it's not over yet.
The Republican-led state House recently approved spending a $31 million grant for the online exchange.
But Senate Republicans who got behind his state-run marketplace in 2011 are hesitating at a plan to instead partner with the federal government.
The Senate's GOP leader says he will not be rushed and is considering whether to hold a vote.
The website and accompanying call center are supposed to make it easier for people to shop for the insurance they must have in 2014 under the federal health care overhaul.
