MARQUETTE, Mich. (AP) - An autopsy report lists accidental drowning as the cause of death for a Northern Michigan University soccer player who was found unresponsive in a campus pool.
The school on Friday released the results of the Marquette County medical examiner's report related to the Nov. 30 death of Arianna Alioto, a freshman midfielder from Columbia, Mo.
Officials say there's no indication of foul play.
Alioto was alone in the pool when she was discovered after a team workout. A lifeguard had left when the workout ended.
University public safety director Mike Bath says police have completed their investigation and found that Alioto "never left the pool and ... no one in the pool or Sports Complex workout areas saw anyone in distress during or at the conclusion of the practice."
